1. Riviera Maya in the state of Yucatan

2. Mexico City
The capital of Mexico was originally settled by the Aztecs on a lake with floating cities. After the Spanish conquest and the drying up of the lake, one of the largest metropolises in the world developed with around 22 million people. In the center, ruins of Aztec buildings and magnificent buildings from the colonial era can be admired. In terms of cuisine, Mexico City has a lot to offer; there are countless restaurants with a wide variety of Mexican and South American dishes. For little money, you can buy delicious tacos and similar dishes at the street stalls.
3. Teotihuacan
The complex of the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon is located just 50 kilometers northeast of Mexico City and is one of the most visited tourist sites in the country. Teothiuacan was Mexico's largest ancient city. The Pyramid of the Sun was completed in 150 AD and is the third largest pyramid in the world, behind only the Egyptian Pyramid of Cheops and the Pyramid of Cholula in Mexico.
4. Guanajuato
The unique Guanajuato is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city was founded in 1559 on a mountain near rich silver and gold deposits. In 1558, one of the richest silver veins in the northern hemisphere was discovered. This led to the colonialists mining silver for 250 years, which accounts for about 20% of the world's silver reserves. The city's wealth at that time can be seen in the magnificent colonial buildings, squares and monuments.
Palenque
The temples of Palenque, located in the jungle, are one of the most important tourist attractions in the state of Chiapas. The ruins, which are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are a symbol of the architectural advancement and power of the Mayan culture.
